About the role
We have a temporary opportunity for an Asset Manager to join our team. This is a parental leave placement until the end of December 2023, where, reporting to the Head of Logistics, you will work as a member of the broader logistics team to contribute to the effective management of customer and internal Penten assets. This is a fast paced role, and work environment where you will draw on your strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and time management skills to deliver timely asset management services and data driven advice to integrated project teams, internal customers and our clients alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage internal and client assets, including but not limited to:
- Physical storage and accounting activities, including ensuring compliance with security and maintaining awareness across associated cryptographic management
- Maintaining the Penten Asset Management System (database).
- Providing timely and data driven asset management advice and support to the HoL and internal customers as required.
- Monitoring procurement and Return Materiel Authorisation (RMA) activities to identify internal and company asset tracking requirements.
- Forecasting procurement activities to ensure hardware, software licencing, support contracts and associated attributes are maintained and updated to minimise disruption to services.
- Forecasting and coordinating calibration and other maintenance requirements for customer assets under the control of Penten.
- Contribute to incoming and outgoing freight services, including dangerous goods, with a particular focus on ensuring customer assets are handled in accordance with extant policy, procedure and/or contractual requirements.
- Contribute to the development of solutions to moderately complex asset management problems by applying a basic understanding of the relevant legislation and customer asset management policy and processes.
- Maintain service continuity across the logistics function by understudying other members of the Logistics Team and assuming additional roles and responsibilities as required and within appropriate knowledge, skill and ability parameters.

Essential:
- At least five years’ experience working within a related logistics or business administration discipline.
- Negative Vetting Level Two (NV2) security clearance
- Proven ability to work independently to achieve quality business
- Proven ability to apply analytical skills to identify problems and quickly establish solutions and data driven recommendations to moderately complex problems.
- Proven ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and priorities to effectively operate in a fast-moving business environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively as a member of complex technical teams.
Desirable:
- Undergraduate qualifications within a logistics or business administration
- Experience working within the Defence or National Security and Intelligence
- Experience managing cryptographic
This role requires the successful candidate to be an Australian citizen with a current AGSVA NV2 (or higher) security clearance.
