We are seeking a Cyber Adversary Emulations Specialist to simulate threat actors, and providing advice on likely adversary scenarios, to help Penten develop and deliver of novel cybersecurity solutions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as a primary expert on adversary goals, scenarios, missions, and actions as part of a product management team, across a range of products.
  • Advise the Product Manager(s) on the impact of proposed product features, on likely adversary missions and actions.
  • Undertake adversary emulations to validate new product features and inform the future development of existing products.
  • Create adversary automations and scenarios to support product demonstrations.
  • Build threat actor scenarios to support the development of Blue Team training missions.
  • As part of a team, help to generate and maintain product deployment advice to maximise its effectiveness.
  • Support product demonstrations and training, as the Adversary Emulation Specialist.
  • Support the Product Managers to develop and maintain white papers, blogs and other communications.
  • Research new adversary tools, techniques, and procedures.
  • Present ideas in forums, either individually, or as part of a team.

What you will not do:

  • Penetration testing of client systems

About you

  • Familiarity with adversary models and emulations tools
  • Experience with Security Assessment Toolsets (Metasploit, NMAP, Cobalt Strike, Nessus, Burp Suite, etc.)
  • Experience in automation and scripting of applications and systems
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Red Team/Penetration Testing activities is highly preferred
  • Must be able to effectively communicate at all levels (executive leadership and technical support teams) within Penten and to clients.
  • A passion for adversary emulation
  • A desire to support others through better product development
  • A calm, thoughtful and team-oriented approach to problem solving
  • Desirable Certifications: OSCP, GPEN, OSCE, GCIH, GXPN

This role requires the successful candidate to be an Australian citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance. Preference may be given to applicants with an active clearance. Successful applicants may be requested to submit a clearance at a higher level.
