At the inaugural Australian Defence Industry Awards last night, Penten was awarded Cyber Business of the Year. In addition to winning the overall cyber category, three Penten staff made the finalist list: Matthew Wilson, Executive of the Year; Ben Whitham, Innovator of the Year and Cameron Humphries, Engineer of the Year.
The glamorous event was held at the Australian Institute of Sport and brought together defence industry stakeholders; SMEs, primes, academic institutions and associations.
Matthew Wilson, CEO, Penten accepted the award from Adam Goodes on behalf of the large Penten team on stage. Wilson said, “We are so pleased to accept this award and be recognised as Cyber Business of the Year.
Penten is dedicated to help protect those who protect us. Our focus on doing important work to assist in safeguarding Australia’s National interests. Defence, as one of our main clients inspires us to innovate in new ways, and anything we can do to help Defence achieve their aim is part of our goal.”
This awards program aimed to reflect the comprehensive role of the defence industry as a fundamental input the capability. This night focused on recognising leading professionals and businesses rather than products and platforms.
Penten also recently won Most Innovative Company, Government at the Australian Financial Review and Boss awards.
