The inaugural Australian Cyber Security Awards, recognising outstanding individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to the field of cybersecurity, were held at Hotel Realm in Canberra on 1 June 2023.

Penten attended the awards evening to acknowledge and celebrate all the talented and successful finalist individuals and organisations, especially our own 3 individual finalists, Abbie Smith for Female Cyber Security Professional of the Year, Georgia Prout for Cyber Security Rising Star and Gavin Longmuir for Government Cyber Security Professional of the Year.

Across all categories it was exciting to see the incredible dedication and achievement within the cyber security industry being recognized by these awards.

A huge congratulations goes out to Gavin Longmuir for winning the Government Cyber Security Professional of the Year award. Here’s what Gavin had to say about it:
“A thank you note!
Thursday evening, I received the CyberSecurityConnect Government Cybersecurity Professional of the Year award. The awards ceremony was a remarkable event that celebrated the contributions of talented individuals in Australian Cybersecurity.
First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to my wife and family for their support throughout the years. Additionally, I am indebted to a list of mentors and peers who have played a significant role in shaping my success.
While it is impossible to name each and every person I have had the privilege of working with since entering the workforce. The teamwork and collaboration I have experienced in the realms of ICT and Cybersecurity have been nothing short of remarkable. Working in these fields has been a true passion of mine, almost akin to a hobby.”

Penten also won the award for ENDPOINT SECURITY PROVIDER OF THE YEAR for our AltoCrypt Suite of products. Congratulations and thank you to all of the highly dedicated Penten team who have contributed to achieving this award.
