Last night Austrade hosted the 59th Annual Australian Export Awards to recognise excellence in Australia’s export industry for 2021. David Koch was the Master of Ceremonies and finalists and supporters attended virtually from all over Australia.

Penten was awarded Emerging Exporter of the Year for 2021 as judges focused on the achievements of the business over the last three years which included a trebling of export revenue.

Matthew Wilson, CEO, Penten attended the ACT viewing party with the other Canberra finalists and was excited and humbled by the win.

“It’s moments like these that allow us to stop and remember how far we’ve come and all we’ve achieved in only a few short years. Our team has worked so incredibly hard to build the capability we are now providing globally, and I genuinely thank them for their dedication,” Wilson said.

In the past financial year, Penten’s exports were worth $6.3 million up from $2 million the year prior.

During lockdowns in 2020, The UK Government sought secure at-home systems for COVID-driven remote working. Working with its UK partner, Penten designed, built and shipped its mobility solution in record time, adapting to the challenges of the pandemic.

“We are genuinely lucky to be supported and recognised by the UK Government. This support allows us to enable another a key partner of Australia and this reflects our purpose,” Wilson said.

Northern Territory based Moonsoon Aquatics won the overall award for the night taking home the Australian Exporter of the Year award for their excellence in exporting sustainable coral and marine life.

Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Dan Tehan presented the award on the night congratulated all the exporters and winners for their contribution to the Australian economy.
