About the Role

The Senior Windows System Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and optimisation of all Windows based ICT systems. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Information and Information Security Officer, this critical role ensures systems are secure, efficient and aligned with business needs. Specifically, this role will:

  • Maintain essential Windows based IT operations, including desktops and servers, Active Directory, on-premise Microsoft Exchange and various other Windows based applications.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure the integrity and functionality of systems, including updates, patches and backups.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect our systems from unauthorised access, malware and other security threats.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades and deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes and procedures.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience building critical Windows services from the ground up, including services such as Active Directory, file storage, and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Experience working in high security IT environment.
  • Experience implementing automation using PowerShell or Python.
  • Ability to analyse complex issues, troubleshoot problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Attention to detail and logical approach to system configurations, documentation and security measures.
  • Experience guiding and supporting junior team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications & Eligibility

To be eligible for this position you must:

  • Experience as a Windows System Administrator
  • Be an Australian citizen with an AGSVA NV2 clearance (or eligible and willing to undergo the process)
